Our Family
Hello and welcome to the Wilkins - Baardse Family Website. I'm happy that you've joined us and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy this special tribute site, which is lovingly dedicated to my late parents, Richard Bruce Wilkins and Cecilia Marie (Baardse) Wilkins.
My name is Michelle Wilkins Cook and it has always been my desire to create a website in honor of my parents. The research and the design have been a labor of love. One I am sure my parents would be proud of. The research you will find here is a family effort. My brothers and I have spent too many hours to count researching our history. It is by no means complete, but it is a start. We hope you enjoy.
A Brief History
My parents met in Washington D.C. where my father was stationed in the service. The time was around 1953. My mother and her family lived there. I never got the full story about how they met, but the result was my mother moved up to Massachusetts to be with my father and his family. They were married in 1958. At first they had some difficulty conceiving which prompted them to become foster parents. This would end up to be a lifelong committment for them. Eventually they did have children of their own. In fact they had 6. In they process they also adopted 3 of the many foster children who passed through their doors. Add to that a permanent long-term foster child and you have what is the Wilkins Gang.

What we do -
This web site is all about family. We have worked hard to gather information on our family lines. During the course of our research we have come across numerous unrelated Wilkins family documents. If you are looking for information on a Wilkins from New England, please feel free to email us with your question. Someone will get back to you. Also we will take any information you have reguarding the Wilkins and Baardse family lines. We will include information for all lines of the family here.
If you have any photos, articles or stories or questions you would like us to post, just send them along and we will get them on the site. Geneology works by sharing information with each other, helping and passing along all of this knowledge so that it will not be lost forever.
